How a tile is made

  1. ClayThe clay rests, then is shaped by hand.
  2. OutlineThe pattern is outlined with a fine brush.
  3. PaintCobalt, turquoise and coral red are applied by hand.
  4. GlazeThe piece is dipped into a glassy glaze.
  5. KilnFiring turns the glaze into a lasting shine.
